The Colosseum is Rome’s most popular attraction and sells out weeks in advance. Even with the Roma Pass, you’ll need to book a specific time slot.

  • Castel Sant’Angelo – Visit this incredible structure and learn about how it was used throughout history, from its birth as a mausoleum to its use as a prison and much more.
  • Borghese Gallery – It’s one of the greatest private collections, with masterpieces by Bernini, Caravaggio, and Titian, to name a few. Reservation is required and subject to availability; early booking is preferred.
  • Capitoline Museums – It’s the most ancient public collection in the world, with impressive archeological displays.
  • Baths of Caracalla, Ostia Antica, and Mausoleum of Augustus, three major archaeological sites included in the pass. The Mausoleum requires advance reservation.
  • National Roman Museum has four sites under one ticket: Palazzo Massimo, Palazzo Altemps, Crypta Balbi, and the Baths of Diocletian.
  • Museum of Rome (Palazzo Braschi) and Ara Pacis Museum are both within easy walking distance of the historic center.

Is the Roma Pass worth it?

It is strongest when you use Rome’s public transport and visit at least one paid attraction, such as the Colosseum, Castel Sant’Angelo or the Capitoline Museums.

Roma Pass 48 or 72 hours, which should I choose?

Choose 48 hours if you only need one included attraction and a short burst of transport. Choose 72 hours if you want two included attractions and more time on the metro, buses and trams.

Does Roma Pass include public transport?

Yes, it covers Rome’s metro, trams, buses and ATAC urban railway services during the pass validity. Keep your phone charged and the Roma Pass App downloaded before you start using it.

Does Roma Pass let you skip the line?

It can give you ticket-line access to selected included attractions. Security checks and timed-entry rules still apply; some of the attractions, like the Colosseum and Borghese Gallery both require advance reservations.

Is the Colosseum free with a Roma Pass?

The Colosseum can count as one of your included sites, depending on whether you use the 48-hour or 72-hour pass for it. You still need a reservation through the Roma Pass App or website, with at least 10 days’ notice recommended, or 20 days in peak season.
