The Omnia Card is a sightseeing pass that offers visitors access to some of the top attractions in Rome and Vatican City.
Highlights
What’s Included
The Omnia Card covers entry to the Vatican Museums, Colosseum, and several other major sites across Rome and Vatican City. The exact combination varies by pass version.
Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel
The Vatican Museums are home to some of the world’s most famous art collections, including the Sistine Chapel.
All three passes include skip-the-line or fast-track entry to both sites. Book your timed entrance slot well in advance. Slots fill quickly in summer, and the pass alone does not guarantee entry without a reservation.
St. Peter’s Basilica
This stunning church is located in Vatican City and is one of the largest in the world. Entry to St. Peter’s Basilica is free for all visitors and does not require a pass. The Smart pass adds an audio guide app for the basilica.
Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill
The Colosseum is Rome’s best-known ancient site, an arena that held 50,000 spectators for gladiatorial games.
With the 72h pass, it counts as one of your two free Roma Pass picks. With the Smart pass, it is included outright. The same ticket covers the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, with a separate entrance a short walk away. A reservation is mandatory for all pass holders.
Castel Sant’Angelo
This impressive fortress is located a few steps away from the Vatican and was originally built as a mausoleum for the Roman emperor Hadrian. You can also enjoy a drink and relax in the middle row of the “windows” of the castle; they have a nice little cafe.
With the 72h pass, it is one of your two free Roma Pass picks. The roof terrace has a long view over the Tiber and back toward the dome of St. Peter’s.
Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano
The Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano is the oldest of Rome’s four papal basilicas, founded by Constantine in the 4th century.
All three passes include entry to the basilica and the 13th-century cloister, with an audio guide. It sits well away from the main tourist crowds near Lateran Square, making it one of the quieter stops on the itinerary.
Mamertine Prison (Carcer Tullianum)
The Mamertine Prison is one of the oldest structures in Rome, with its lower chamber cut into rock in the 7th century BC. By tradition, the apostles Peter and Paul were held here before their executions.
All three passes include entry with an audio guide. Smart pass holders collect their Colosseum ticket here before heading to the arena.

One Vatican day is what the Omnia 24h delivers. The Museums, Sistine Chapel, and a bus loop around the city centre fit without rushing. Right for a short stopover; wrong for anyone who wants the Colosseum or the metro.
Omnia 72h makes sense for a 3-day stay. The Roma Pass component gives you free entry to the Colosseum plus one more site pick: Castel Sant’Angelo, the Capitoline Museums, the Borghese Gallery, or the Circo Maximo Experience. The full public transport network is covered for 72 hours from the moment you activate.
For a visit with no fixed schedule, the Omnia Smart is the cleaner choice. Valid for 12 months from purchase, no dates to lock in at checkout. The Colosseum is included outright. Five audio walking tours cover different neighbourhoods and the pass lives entirely on your phone.
How To Collect and Activate Your Card
Your voucher arrives by email within 24 hours of booking. Check your spam folder if it doesn’t appear.
Take the voucher to one of the two ORP offices below to collect your hop-on hop-off bus tickets. When you board the bus for the first time, show your voucher to the staff and keep the paper receipt for the rest of your stay.
The entry time you pick at checkout applies to the Vatican Museums only. Other included attractions require separate reservations at this link after purchase.
Before your arrival in Rome, download Vatican & Rome App (available on Play Store or Apple Store) to use the Pop Guide audio guide.
Collect your Omnia Card and Roma Pass at one of the ORP offices by showing your voucher QR code.
If your Vatican Museums visit is booked for the same day you plan to collect, arrive at the desk at least one hour before your entry time.
The Colosseum requires a separate mandatory reservation. For all other reservations and more information, check this link.
Download the Vatican & Rome App from the App Store or Google Play to access the Vox City audio guide.
The Smart pass is fully digital. No physical collection is required. Keep your purchase confirmation handy in case it is needed, and ORP offices are available if you require assistance.
For the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, the official entry voucher is sent by email within 24 hours before your booked time slot. Show it at the entrance and check your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive.
The timeslot you are purchasing refers to the Vatican entrance timeslot. Reserve your time slots for other venues: Mamertine Prison, Colosseum, and Lateran Palace separately at this link after purchase.
For the Colosseum, you must collect your ticket in person at the Mamertine Prison (Clivo Argentario) before visiting the arena. Book the Mamertine Prison first, then the Colosseum about one hour later. Bring a valid ID document.

Insider Tips
- No shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless tops are permitted at Vatican sites. This applies to St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel.
- Bring your own earphones. The audio guide in the Vatican & Rome App works significantly better with earbuds than through a phone speaker inside the galleries.
- The hop-on hop-off bus (included with the 24h and 72h passes) runs on a reduced schedule over Christmas and New Year and does not operate on 25 December.
- With the 72h pass, the Omnia and Roma Pass components activate independently. Spend 2 days on the Vatican side, then start the transport pass when you’re ready.
- ORP offices are closed on 15 August, 1 November, and 25 December. The Smart pass requires no collection, so it avoids this entirely.
- Opening hours vary due to special events. Check attraction websites before your visit.

FAQs
Is the Omnia Card worth it?
For a first visit covering the Vatican and multiple other sites, yes. The skip-the-line access at the Vatican Museums alone saves 2 – 3 hours in peak season. If you’re visiting two paid attractions or fewer, individual tickets will often work out cheaper.
What’s the difference between the 24h, 72h, and Smart passes?
The 24h covers the Vatican and the hop-on hop-off bus. No Colosseum, no public transport. The 72h pairs the Omnia Vatican Card with the Roma Pass: you get the Colosseum plus one more free site pick, and 72 hours of unlimited public transport. The Smart includes the Colosseum and five audio walking tours, has no bus or transport card, and stays valid for 12 months from purchase.
Does the Omnia Card include the Colosseum?
Does the Omnia Card include public transport?
Only the 72h version includes a transport card (72 hours, unlimited on Rome’s metro, buses, and trams). The 24h and Smart passes cover attractions only.

Entry to St. Peter’s Basilica is free for all visitors and doesn’t require the pass. The Smart pass includes an audio guide app for the basilica.
