During the summer, Romans love to hit the beach of Ostia (an ancient seaport located just about 30 km from Rome) by day (to enjoy the sun in one of the many paying beach establishments or at the free beach of Castel Porziano) and by night, the moment when they mingle and party out in one of the many clubs of Ostia main sea strip.
The season in Ostia slowly starts already around May, and in June, most of the clubs ( usually beach establishments by day and dance clubs by night) are already open and fully active: open-air dance floors, candle-lit exotic lounge bars, and dee jays entertain a young and less young crowd from the cocktails hours until the break of dawn.
Some of the most well-known spots are the Shilling, the Spiaggetta, the Open Bar( where you can sip cocktails by the pool), and the Faber beach( where people like to sit directly on the sand with a bottle of beer and listen to the music played by a DJ).
How To Get To Ostia
Getting to Ostia is a bit of a hassle because the roads that lead there get packed with cars, especially between 10 and 11 pm at night, the moment when most people hit the road to reach the nightclubs.
Once there, it is not easy and quick to find a parking spot. The best solution would be to get there for dinner time, around 8 pm, and then after dinner, choose a club to continue the night: Ostia by night, being a wonderland for the night party animals, is quite worth the travel.

By Train
Ostia Antica can also be reached by local train: from Termini Station, you’ll have to take the Metro B( Blue Line) direction Eur Laurentina.
You get off at the Piramide stop, and from here, you can take the Ostia Lido Train and get off at the Station of Ostia Lido Centro. The first train usually leaves at 5. 43 in the morning, and it runs until 21 pm.
