How it Works
1. Buy your pass
Choose your duration (1-5 days) and add the Colosseum and Vatican Museums if you want them. You’ll get a digital pass by email immediately after booking.
2. Pick Your Time Slots
When you book, select preferred dates for your Colosseum and Vatican visits (if included). The system assigns you the next available time slot. Check your confirmation email for the exact times.
3. Download Your Pass
Your digital pass arrives by email right away. Your Colosseum and Vatican tickets appear 1-2 weeks before your visit. Save everything to your phone.
4. Activate at Your First Attraction
Your pass activates when you use it at any attraction. Start wherever you want. It’s then valid for consecutive days based on what you bought.
5. Show Your QR Code
- At each attraction, show your phone with the QR code. Staff scan it and let you in. Sometimes they’ll give you a paper ticket, but entry is direct.
- For partner discounts, show your pass before paying. For guided tours, give your City Pass code to the provider when booking.
- Each attraction can be visited once. Your pass expires at midnight on your final day.
What’s Included
The Main Attractions

- Pantheon: One of the best-preserved Roman buildings in the world. The dome is still the largest unreinforced concrete dome ever built. Entry is free but the pass lets you skip any lines.
- Castel Sant’Angelo: Originally Emperor Hadrian’s mausoleum, later a fortress and papal residence. The views from the top are excellent.
- Ostia Antica: An ancient Roman port city with well-preserved ruins including a theater, baths, and mosaics. About 30 minutes outside central Rome.
- National Roman Museum sites: Includes Palazzo Barberini and Galleria Corsini with paintings by Caravaggio and Raphael.
- Piazza Navona Underground (Stadio di Domiziano): The ancient stadium beneath Piazza Navona. Most tourists don’t know it exists.
- Case Romane del Celio: Roman houses and early Christian structures hidden beneath a medieval basilica.
You also get:
- 48-hour hop-on hop-off bus tour with audio guide
- Guided walking tour of central Rome
- Guided bike tour (plus 2-hour bike rental included)

Getting Around Rome with Your Pass
The Hop-on Hop-off Bus
- Your pass includes a 48-hour ticket for the Big Bus tour. The buses cover all major attractions on multiple routes.
- Jump on and off as many times as you want. The audio guide explains what you’re seeing. Use it on your first day to get oriented.
- Buses run frequently during the day but get crowded in peak season. Go early morning for the best experience.
Public Transport
- Public transport (metro, buses, trams) is NOT included in the base pass. You can add it as an optional upgrade when booking.
- Rome’s metro connects main tourist areas. Walking is often faster in the historic center since everything is close together.
Getting Between Attractions
- Most major sites are in the historic center. Walk from the Pantheon to Piazza Navona in five minutes. The Colosseum is about 20 minutes on foot.
- The Vatican is further west. Take metro line A to Ottaviano station, then walk 10 minutes.
- Ostia Antica needs a train from Porta San Paolo station (near Piramide metro). Journey takes 30 minutes.
Reservations and Timed Entry
Booking Your Colosseum and Vatican Slots
- When you buy your pass, select preferred dates for the Colosseum and Vatican (if included). The system books the next available time slot during your pass validity.
- Your Colosseum or Vatican visit might be scheduled for your first day. If you arrive in Rome at 14:00 and your slot is at 11:00, you’ll miss it. Check your confirmation carefully.
- Reservations open about six weeks in advance. Your tickets appear in your digital pass 1-2 weeks before your visit.
If Your Time Slot Doesn’t Work
- If the assigned time doesn’t work, contact Turbopass support immediately. They can sometimes change it, but there’s no guarantee.
- This is the main complaint in reviews: people arrive and their Colosseum booking conflicts with their arrival time.
For Other Attractions
- Other attractions don’t need reservations. Show up during opening hours with your pass.
- The Pantheon has long lines at midday. Go early morning or late afternoon. Castel Sant’Angelo is usually manageable throughout the day.

FAQs
Is Rome Turbopass legit?
Yes. Turbopass partners with GetYourGuide and operates city passes in multiple European cities.
Customer reviews average 3.4 out of 5 stars. Most complaints are about logistics (confusing time slots, unclear instructions) rather than the pass not working.
Does it save time?
At the Colosseum and Vatican, yes. Pre-booked entry saves 1-2 hours of waiting per site.
For other attractions, the time savings are minimal. Most included museums don’t have long lines.
The real benefit is not having to research tickets, find websites, and buy from multiple vendors.
It also saves you from buying individual tickets at each site. You still wait in the same security lines as everyone else with tickets. At some attractions, you can skip the ticket purchase queue, but security checks are mandatory everywhere.
How long does the pass last?
It’s valid for consecutive calendar days starting on the date you select during booking. Choose 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 days when you buy. Each day counts from midnight to midnight, not 24-hour periods.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund.
How do I receive the pass?
You get a digital pass by email within minutes after your payment is confirmed. The email includes opening hours and addresses for each attraction.
Do I need to print anything?
No. The digital pass on your phone works at all locations. You can screenshot the QR code to use it offline if needed.
Can I visit the Colosseum without buying the upgrade?
The Colosseum isn’t included in the base pass. Add it as an optional extra when you purchase.
What if my time slot isn’t available?
If you added Vatican Museums or Colosseum tickets, the provider books the next available slot during your pass dates. You don’t pick the time yourself.
If the scheduled time doesn’t work, contact GetYourGuide support before your pass activates. They can adjust it depending on availability.
When will my Vatican or Colosseum ticket be scheduled?
The provider books it for the next available time slot during your pass validity. Check your confirmation email carefully for your time slots.
Can I use each attraction more than once?
No. Each included attraction can be visited once during your pass validity.
Can I share my pass with someone else?
No. The pass is non-transferable and for your personal use only. You’ll need to show photo ID at attractions. Each person gets their own QR code. Each QR code allows entry to each attraction only once, so it can’t be transferred to another person after use.
What if I lose my digital pass?
Contact GetYourGuide support. You can access your pass through your booking confirmation email or your GetYourGuide account.
Does it work on public holidays?
Yes, the pass is valid on all days including public holidays. However, some attractions may be closed or have different opening hours on holidays. Check the attraction’s website before your visit. On December 24, most attractions close early or for the full day.
What languages is the pass available in?
The Turbopass is available in German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
What do I need to bring?
Charged phone with digital pass
Valid ID or passport
Water bottle (Rome has free drinking fountains)
Comfortable shoes
